The start of any new year brings with it uncertainty, and we can kid ourselves that new years' past the balance was more towards hope than fear. But 2016 from the outset is a strange beast. With the warmest winter so far on record, flood waters rising, and storm clouds each throwing out a palette of greys with silver linings, it's no wonder we picked out an-other worldly scene for the essence of this season's mood.
